The Role:

This is a sales role - Sales Business Dev Mgr.

Your Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the orders and sales from all customers in South America excluding Brazil

- Prepare and implement direct selling strategies at the major accounts in the territory

- Work with partners to sell to small to medium sized operators

- Communicate account and market information to management, team members and business units

- Willing to travel in the region and to US at least 50% to 60% of the time


Your Skills:

- 5+ years of relevant industry experience

- 4 year college degree (preferred in Telecommunications)

- 3 or more years selling telecommunications equipment

- CATV market knowledge

- Good relationship with CATV operators and Telco's in Central America and Caribbean

- Good negotiator

- Fluent speaking in Spanish and English

- Proven experience working in pre-sales activities with Cable Operators in all aspects of their video networks, including analog optoelectronics, HFC architectures, digital and analog headend.

- Very good understanding of video signals, both digital and analog, DVB and ATSC standards, satellite reception, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 technologies, statistical multiplexing of digital video, encryption technologies, DVB-Simulcrypt and DVB-C standards, DVB-SI/PSI tables, reverse path design, plant and headend requirements for video, data and voice, DWM/DWDM for HFC networks, node segmentation concepts.

- Understanding of Docsis specifications and QAM and QPSK modulation formats, IP addressing (unicast, multicast), TCP/IP and OSI layers.

- Able to recommend broadband architectures, network migration strategies, bandwidth management alternatives and headend architectures for centralized and distributed topologies.

- Knowledge of triple play services and their impact on the broadband network design.

- Native Spanish speaker and fluent in both oral and written English.

- Strong initiative and oriented to results.

- Self-motivated.

- Very good presentation skills.

- Must be willing to travel 50% to 75% of the time, and on occasions work over the weekends at customer sites out of town.

Preferred Experience / Years: At least three years working as Sales Engineer for cable operators.


% Work Travel: 50%-75%. Average over the year will be 50%, but there will be months when travel may be required for three weeks or more. Will cover all Central America and the Caribbean.
